Stay Central in Kuala Lumpur's Hip District of Bukit Bintang

This hotels was kind enough to host us while visiting Kuala Lumpur, but know that we recommend only places we truly enjoy - and all content is our own.

Best Centrally Located stay in Bukit Bintang

After 4 great nights in KLCC it was time to try a different neighborhood and we really wanted to explore Bukit Bintang. Fortunately for us, Ramada Suites by Wyndham has the perfect location for this, and we went straight there. Once more, we were in for another great stay, as Ramada Suites hosted us for the next few days. Here we got to stay in their very nice and modern family room, which was like a small apartment with two bedrooms, kitchen and living/dining room, oh, and let me not forget the washing machine, as that is something we really have come to value the convenience of where we are staying, as a full time travelling family.

A Night Out

On the night of our arrival at the Ramada Suites, it turned out that it was “Women’s Night” in their restaurant/bar, Hugo´s, where they also had the most delicious Indian food. As our two boys were super excited about having their own room, they just wanted to hang out and have a “boys’ night”. Martin and I took advantage of the situation and went to the bar downstairs for a drink. Something we haven’t done much while on the road as a fulltime travel family. It was so nice to be able to have some adult time in a nice bar with a great atmosphere.

Exploring Bukit Bintang

Staying at the Ramada Suites by Wyndham we didn’t have to walk far to explore more of KL. This time it was a more authentic but still very modern part of the city. First up, we walked to the food street Jalan Alor to try all the famous dishes of the food mecca that KL is, had a foot massage, and saw lots of street art in the neighborhood. Next up, was Forest Eco Park with its Canopy Walk and lots of trails around the KL Tower. What an experience of walking the trails and especially in the treetops looking for some wild animals, in the middle of the city and yet it’s its own forest. Such a cool and fun experience for kids and adults. The Forest Eco Park is right next to the KL landmark and communication tower, Menara KL, which can be visited for a 360-degree view of KL. Finally, there is lots of shopping that can be done in Bukit Bintang with all the malls in walking distance from the hotel. You can easily spend several days in this neighborhood.

Getting around KL on two tiny wheels

Staying so central in KLCC couldn’t have been better. We could walk to all the places we wanted to go to. For anything outside KLCC we used Grab (Asia’s Uber). It’s definitely the fastest option and often also the cheapest option for getting around – traveling as a family of four. Another means of transportation we used in KL, in particular the boys, was the e-scooters. You download the app “Beam”, sign up on, and can take and drop them everywhere. This saved some tired legs on many days and made lots of walking a bit more fun.

We really couldn’t have found a better place to stay in Bukit Bintang, KL – super centrally located and convenient with good food in the restaurant, great pool, and a sure choice for our next stay in this great city, and we are so thankful to the Ramada Suites by Wyndham for hosting us and helping us to have such a great time in KL.
