Prepare for this when you visit Sweden

Updated: Sep 12, 2019

Arrival in the Airport – Then What?

As you probably arrive at Arlanda airport 40 km north of the city, you’ll find that the Arlanda Express straight into the city center is the fastest, most comfortable and easiest (and most expensive) way to get to Stockholm. There are also cheaper airport busses though. Once you are in the city, it’s very easy to get around by public transportation as it works extremely well. You also have the option of biking around the city with the Stockholm Bikes which you take in one place, ride it, and leave it at your final destination. Stockholm is not that big, and with lots of biking lanes, you swift by the traffic. This is, however, most enjoyable in the spring and summer months.

Hello Nature... Only 10 Minutes Away

Nature is so beautiful and just everywhere in Sweden – even in the middle of Stockholm. You will never be more than 10 minutes away from a quiet green place, no matter where you are. Besides the parks that you find in most cities, you have the island of Djurgården in Stockholm, a tranquil and green island with many attractions like the outdoor museum Skansen, the Abba museum, the Vasa museum, Gröna Lund (amusement park), Junibacken and lots more. You really should visit Djurgården for some peace and quiet, for hanging out, for a fika, fun or museums, and if you have young children, Junibacken is a must as well. Finally, make sure to always bring towel and swim clothes when you get out in Stockholm. The Swedes swim off the cliffs almost anywhere in the Stockholm area during the summer months.

I could go on and on about what I love in Stockholm at why I love it, but I think this list will make it easier for you. So, click here to not miss out on the list of our favourite things to see and do in Stockholm, including outings around greater Stockholm.
